Beta Tester Agreement

🤝 1. About This Agreement

This Beta Tester Agreement ("Agreement") is between you ("Tester," "you") and NurturedPet ("we," "us," "our") regarding your participation in the NurturedPet beta testing program via Apple TestFlight.

By accepting the TestFlight invitation and using the beta version of NurturedPet, you agree to the terms below.

• Gather feedback on features and user experience
• Ensure the app works well across different devices and use cases
• Refine our compassionate approach to pet care support

Your participation directly shapes the final product that will help pet caregivers worldwide.

📋 4. Your Responsibilities

4.1 Provide Feedback

We encourage (but don't require) you to:

• Report bugs and issues you encounter
• Share your thoughts on features and usability
• Respond to surveys or feedback requests
• Suggest improvements based on your caregiving needs

4.2 Use Responsibly

You agree to:

• Use the beta App for its intended purpose (pet care management)
• Keep the App updated to the latest TestFlight version
• Not rely solely on the beta App for critical medication reminders (have backup systems during testing)
• Report any data loss or serious issues promptly

4.3 Maintain Confidentiality

During the beta period, you agree to:

• Not publicly share screenshots, videos, or details about unreleased features
• Not discuss non-public information about the App on social media or forums
• Not share your TestFlight invitation with others without permission

Exception: You may share feedback directly with us and discuss the general existence of the beta.

⚠️ 5. Beta Limitations & Risks

5.1 Software May Be Unstable

• The App may crash, freeze, or behave unexpectedly
• Features may be incomplete, change, or be removed
• Performance may vary
• Compatibility issues may occur on some devices

5.2 Data Risks

• Data loss may occur — always have backup records of important information
• Data from beta may not transfer to the public release
• We may reset or clear beta data at any time

5.3 Not for Critical Use

Do NOT rely solely on the beta for critical medication reminders. During testing, maintain backup systems (written notes, other apps, manual alarms) for essential pet medications.

5.4 No Guarantee of Service

• Beta access may be suspended or revoked at any time
• Features may not be available in the final product
• The beta period may end without notice

🔒 6. Confidentiality & Intellectual Property

6.1 Confidential Information

You acknowledge that the beta App and related materials contain confidential information, including:

• Unreleased features and functionality
• App design and user interface elements
• Technical implementations
• Business strategies discussed in beta communications

6.2 Ownership

All intellectual property rights in the App remain with NurturedPet. Participation in the beta does not grant you any ownership or license rights beyond personal use during testing.

6.3 Feedback Rights

Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide may be used by NurturedPet without compensation or obligation to you. You grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use such feedback.

7.1 "As Is" Software

THE BETA APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. We make no guarantees about reliability, accuracy, or fitness for any purpose.

7.2 Medical Disclaimer

The beta App is NOT a substitute for professional veterinary care. See our full Medical Disclaimer in the Terms of Service.

7.3 Caregiver Wellness & Crisis Detection Feature

NurturedPet includes a Care Companion check-in feature that periodically asks how you are doing emotionally as a caregiver. As a beta tester, please read the following carefully:

Crisis resource surfacing. The app includes a safety feature that scans free-text journal entries for language that may indicate emotional distress. If such language is detected, the app will display a card with free, confidential support resources including the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and the Crisis Text Line. This scanning is done entirely on your device — no text is transmitted to any server for this purpose.

This is a safety net, not a diagnostic tool. The feature notices patterns and surfaces resources. It does not assess, diagnose, or classify your mental health in any way.

Your feedback on this feature matters. As a beta tester, if the resource card surfaces when it should not, too frequently, or fails to appear when it should — please report it to [email protected]. This feature exists to protect real people and your feedback directly shapes how well it works.

7.4 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NurturedPet shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of the beta, including but not limited to:

• Data loss or corruption
• Missed medication reminders
• Any pet health outcomes
• Device issues or crashes
• Loss of time or productivity

🚪 8. Termination

8.1 Your Right to Leave

You may stop participating at any time by:

• Deleting the App from your device
• Removing yourself from the TestFlight beta
• Contacting us to request removal

8.2 Our Right to Remove

We may remove you from the beta at any time, for any reason, including:

• Violation of this Agreement
• Sharing confidential information
• Abusive behavior toward our team
• Inactivity in the beta program
• End of the beta period

8.3 After Termination

Upon termination, your access to the beta will end. Confidentiality obligations continue after termination.

📬 9. Communication

As a beta tester, you may receive:

• Update notifications about new beta versions
• Surveys and feedback requests
• Important announcements about the beta program

📝 10. Agreement Updates

We may update this Agreement during the beta period. We'll notify you of significant changes. Continued participation after changes indicates acceptance.
